It has been noticed by me that of late years His Imperial Majesty the King has been pleased to receive reports of long service, by individuals, to the State, in any capacity.
I have therefore the honor to request the permission accorded me by "Rules and Regulations for His Majesty's Colonial Service" to address, for the recognition of His Majesty, the following particulars of service.
I, born a British subject, at New Scotland on 11th Feby. 1844.
I became a citizen of this Colony in May 1862.
In 1863 I was called upon to serve as a common juror.
I served on common, coroners and special juries, answering every summons. I have, with only two absences of about a year each, been resident forty-two years. I am, since February, released from serving on juries.
I have the honor to be,
Your obedient Servant,
I. Grant Smith
To the Right Honorable Secretary of State for the Colonies.
